"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." ~I Peter 5:6-7~
"But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."~Isaiah 43:1-2~
"Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price." ~1 Peter 3:1-4~
"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."~Titus 2:3-5~
"Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished." ~Jeremiah 29:6~

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." ~Psalm 1:1-3~
"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace." ~James 3:17-18~
"Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." ~Luke 24:45-47~
"Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy." ~James 5:7-11~
"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD and the fruit of the womb is His reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed..." ~Psalm 127:3-5~
"For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." ~Psalm 18:31, Psalm 94:17, and Psalm 127:1~
Mother's Day 2004
"Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old. The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice."~Proverbs 23:22,24-25~
"I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."~Psalm 18:1-2~
""Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. ~I Peter 1:18-21~

night."~Psalm 1:1-2~
"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers
(various) temptations. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith
worketh patience." ~2 Timothy 1:2-3~
Our greatest growth as
Christians comes because of trials, testings, and temptations. Endure them with joy
and thanksgiving.
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence
cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth."
~Psalm 121:1,2~
"We preach Christ (the Messiah) crucified, [preaching
which] to the Jews is a scandal and an offensive stumbling block [that springs a
snare or trap], and to the Gentiles it is absurd and utterly unphilosophical nonsense."
~1 Corinthians 1:23 KJV/Amplified Parallel Bible~
We must start from the
foundation of God as Creator and the Truth of Genesis when we are teaching those
that do not know Him as Creator of all; not like when teaching a Jewish person who
already knows the world was created by the Designer.
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If
ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth,
and the truth shall make you free". ~John 8:31,32~
"So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply
thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up
thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her
as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the
knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and
understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them
that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of
his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea,
every good path." ~Proverbs 2:1-9~
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence
cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He
will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold,
he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is thy keeper:
the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve
thy soul.
The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time
forth, and even for evermore." ~Psalm 121~
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common
to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye
are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be
able to bear it." ~1 Corinthians 10:13~
"For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare
ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves,
and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise." ~2 Corinthians
10:12~
"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually
be in my mouth." ~Psalm 34:1~
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will
I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." ~2
Chronicles 7:14~
"And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying,
If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods
and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD,
and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."
~1 Samuel 7:3~
America, bless God!
"Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder.
Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God
resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore
under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your
care upon him; for he careth for you." ~1 Peter 5:5-7~
"Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands;
that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation
of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose
adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing
of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart,
in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which
is in the sight of God of great price." ~1 Peter 3:1-4~
"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and
power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."
~Revelation 4:11~
"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face
to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."
~1 Corinthians 13:12~ God's Word is like a mirror - it shows us how we are
now and shows us changes that need to be made. God will reveal to us all knowledge
when Scripture has been fulfilled completely.
Resurrection Day!
"...behold, two men stood
by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces
to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not
here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying,
The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified,
and the third day rise again." ~Luke 24:4b-7~
CHRIST IS RISEN! HE
IS RISEN INDEED!!
"Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing
instant in prayer;" ~Romans 12:12~
"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as
becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love
their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their
husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." ~Titus 2:3-5~
"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess;
but be filled with the Spirit." ~Ephesians 5:18~
Instead
of being consumed with thoughts of the world, let us be "drunk" -filled
to overflowing- with the Spirit of the Lord. The literal meaning (my
Bible commentary states) of "filled" meaning "be being filled"
- "be continually being filled". So it is not talking of a one-time
event, ("like the baptism of the Spirit into the body of Christ"), but
frequent fillings. May we be urged to continually be filled... filled to overflowing...
with the Holy Spirit - controlled by Him.
"As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall
save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall
hear my voice." ~Psalm 55:16 & 17~
When we read the many wonderful stories throughout the New
Testament we are taught about the many ways that Christ loves us and how those who
believe are touched in a way some have never experienced. The more we know Jesus
the more our hearts learn to love and care for each other. "Blessed are
the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be
filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure
in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be
called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’
sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile
you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for
my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for
so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." ~Matthew 5:3-12~
"Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve
the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD
he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and
the sheep of his pasture. Enter into is gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts
with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his
mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." ~Psalm
100:1-5~
"Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: And
it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air
came and devoured it up. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth;
and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: But when the sun
was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. And some fell
among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. And
other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and
brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred." ~Mark
4:3-8~
"For the scripture saith, WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH ON HIM
SHALL NOT BE ASHAMED. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for
the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL
UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED. " ~Romans 10:11-13~
